Public Joint Stock Company «Dniproenergo» is one of the leading thermal power generators in Ukraine. Its core business is electricity (about 8,4% of total electricity production of Ukraine) and heat production. PJSC «Dniproenergo» was created on 14 July 1995 and incorporated Prydniprovs'ka, Krivy Rig and Zaporizhzhia local power plants, as well as structural divisions «Dniproenergoremont», «Dniproenergospetsremont», «Dniproenergonaladka», «Dniproenergoavtotrans» and militarized security unit «VOHR. The company includes three thermal power plants -Prydniprovs'ka, Krivy Rig and Zaporizhzhia TPPs with total installed capacity of 8,185 MW located in the two most industrialized regions of Ukraine - Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk.
The total installed electrical capacity of these TPP
power units is 8,185 MW or 16% of Ukrainian total,
thermal capacity - 1,983 Gcal/h.
Company's power plants house 25 power units:
- Prydniprovs'ka TPP - 4 power units of 150 MW, 3
units of 285 MW, 1 unit of 310 MW; main design fuel is Anthracite culm grade coal, backup fuel is fuel oil, gas;
- Krivy Rig TPP - 10 units of 282 MW, design fuel is «P» grade coal, backup fuel - fuel oil and gas;
- Zaporizhzhia TPP - 4 units of 300 MW, 3 units of 800 MW, powered by «G», «DG» grade coal, fuel oil and gas. Today the company operates to maintain their working capacities via upgrading and modernisation. In 2007 the company modernised power unit 8 of Prydniprovs'ka TPP, in 2008 rehabilitated the power unit 10 of Krivy Rig TPP after 12-year cold standby. The company continues the reconstruction project at the power unit 4 of Krivy Rig TPP and unit 9 of Prydniprovs'ka TPP with replacement of electric precipitators, also it started the retrofitting of the power unit 1 at Zaporizhzhia TPP. PJSC «Dniproenergo» strategic development plan till 2030 specifies that the Company is to continue working on attracting investments for modernisation of the existing and construction of new power units, implementation of modern technologies, improving the efficiency of environmental systems by reducing pollutant emissions.
