State Enterprise «Dniprooblenergo» was established in 1995 during the restructuring of the industry. Since 1 January 1996 the Company was renamed to the State Joint Stock Power Supply Company «Dniprooblenergo». Since 30 October 1998 the SJSC «Dniprooblenergo» became the open joint stock company «Power Supply Company «Dniprooblenergo». Since May 2011 pursuant to the current legislation of Ukraine OJSC «Power Supply Company «Dniprooblenergo» was renamed into Public joint stock company (PJSC) «Dniprooblenergo».
Core business of PJSC «Dniprooblenergo» is the transmission and supply of electricity. The Company grid gets its energy supply from the power generating company «Dniproenergo» through 330 - 750 kV NEC «Ukrenergo» backbone grid. PJSC «Dniprooblenergo» transmits some 20 % of Ukraine's total electricity consumption that makes over 23 billion KWh. The Company operates 53.7 thousand km of electricity transmission lines for all voltage classes. PJSC «Dniprooblenergo's» assets include: high-voltage power grid, Dnipropetrovsk and Krivy Rig urban grids and 21 regional electricity grids.The Company employs some 8,000 qualified specialists. On every year basis PJSC «Dniprooblenergo» provides capital investment for construction, reconstruction and modernizationofthepowergrids.ln2011 thelnvestment programme budget of PJSC «Dniprooblenergo» totals UAH 301,670,120 thousand. The scope of upgrading of 0.4-10 kV electricity transmission lines makes 300 - 400 km per year.
At the beginning of 2011 PJSC «Dniprooblenergo» financed the construction in Dnipropetrovsk region of two modern substations - S/s 35/10 kV «Zernova» in Tsarychansk district and S/s 35/6 kV «Auly» in Krynychansk district. According to the approved «Dniprooblenergo» power grids development programme for 2012 - 2015 it is planned to construct 5 substations for 150 kV voltage with 25 - 40 MVA transformers, 3 substations for 35 kV voltage with 6.3-25 MVA transformers, as well as to upgrade 14 substations for 35 - 150 kV voltage. The Company assigned UAH 889.2 million for these purposes. In 2010PJSC «Dniprooblenergo»launched theimplementation of the Concept for the company's dispatching control integrated automated system, which will enable to improve the dispatching control efficiency, enhance operating modes and technological process control, and improve switching equipment operating modes control. The implementation of this project will also permit the Company to eliminate promptly the emergencies, increase the economic effectiveness and reliability of electric facilities, improve the electricity quality and reduce the number of the operating personnel. During 2010 in five districts of Dnipropetrovsk regions at 40 substations the company «Dniprooblenergo» installed modern dispatching control automated systems and modernised the remote control equipment that enabled the Company to operate and control 78 substations with 35 kV voltage. Concept for PJSC «Dniprooblenergo's» dispatching control integrated automated system was developed based on the world experience and its complete implementation will last till 2015.
