Zaporizhyaoblenergo Print version

Open Joint Stock Company «Zaporizhiaoblenergo» was established by the order of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine dated 3 July 1995, through separation from «Dniproenergo» Energy Association and formation of the state-owned joint stock power supply company «Zaporizhiaoblenergo».
The Company supplies electricity to the consumers of Zaporizhia region - one of the largest industrial centres of Ukraine. Length of OJSC «Zaporizhiaoblenergo» overhead lines makes 38,982.96 km, cable lines - 2,826.746 km. The Company's assets include 8,502 transformer substations with total capacity of 9,497.82 MVA. Major Projects of OJSC «Zaporizhiaoblenergo» are implemented within the Investment Programme adopted annually by National Electricity Regulation Commission of Ukraine. Development priorities are: technical development, modernisation and installation of new electric grids and equipment, cost-cutting projects, implementation and development of communication and IT systems. Important changes in the «Zaporizhiaoblenergo» include ISO-9001 quality management system, new technologies in communications and relay protection, successful solution to technical energy loss issues, continuous monitoring of investment activities and implementation of maintenance projects. In 2010 OJSC «Zaporizhiaoblenergo» completed the reconstruction of two 150 kV overhead lines in an industrial area of Zaporizhia. «Zaporizhiaoblenergo» pioneered usage of moulded metal tower structures at the time as pillar land parcels were too small to house conventional foundations for lattice towers. The new pillars allowed the Company to carry out the modernisation works in difficult locations. Now the upgraded lines are supplying electricity to large steel companies - «Zaporizhstal» and «Dniprospetsstal».
«Zaporizhiaoblenergo» has also launched after modernisation its «Berdianska 150 kV» substation. This is one of key facilities crucial for the development of the recreational belt along the Azov Sea coast and reliability of energy supplies to southern parts of Zaporizhia region. In the coming years, regional energy development will be influenced by installation of wind power plants in Pryazovsky and Prymorsky areas of Zaporizhia region. The Company also plans to build several Zaporizhia substations essential for the future development of this regional centre.
